SITPA-IDEAS adds to its offer of geoservices a new cartographic viewer with data of Mobile telephony connectivity in the Asturian territory. The data was collected during a 16-week Drive Test on more than 6,300 km of roads, taking data from mobile coverage, as well as from other services such as file transfer speed, video streaming service and web browsing on 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G network technologies.
The new tool allows you to view:
Data for measuring Connectivity in the Singular Population Entities of the geographical scope of the Principality of Asturias of the three operators with their own network present in the Community
Data for measuring The Quality of Coverage* in Geographical Areas of the Principality of Asturias. Given the impossibility of carrying out measurements in all the geographical points of the Principality of Asturias, a series of layers of geographical information have been generated based on the points of the measurement of the "Drive Test", organized by type of network. These layers delimit a series of geographical areas in which the expressed coverage quality values can be determined with sufficient accuracy. The rest of the geographical areas of the Principality of Asturias that are outside this delimitation may or may not have coverage, but due to the methodology used in the measurement (Drive Test), it has not been possible to determine precisely the degree of coverage.
* For the calculation of the coverage quality values, an average of the available data of the three operators for each type of network has been made.
