UPDATE – NGTOPA

Updated the Geographic Gazetteer of the Official Toponymy of the Principality of Asturias.
With the incorporation of the councils of Tineo and Valdés, the georeferencing project of the official toponymy of the population entities of the 74 Asturian councils that have an officialization decree has been completed. In total, 23.224 official place names have been located, distributed throughout the Asturian territory.
For each of these toponyms, the NGTOPA offers, in addition to their georeferencing, their category, type, code, a link to the corresponding officialization decree, as well as the position they occupy in the hierarchy of the Asturian settlement system.
This project allows access to information to any type of user through different formats and forms of distribution: direct download in Shapefile, GML and Excel format; viewing using a specific viewer; and consultation of a StoryMap.
It is also an active project in search of constant improvement, which will grow and be enriched as new place names become official.
