The Department of Territorial Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and Citizen Rights, through the General Direction of Urban Planning, promotes the approval of a decree that regulates the Cartographic System of the Principality of Asturias, with the aim of establishing a legal basis solid for the development of various bodies and instruments, such as the Cartographic Commission, the Cartography Center, the Cartographic Plan or the Cartography Registry, among others. It is about organizing the various activities related to the production, publication and dissemination of geospatial information, favoring the efficient use of resources and cooperation between public bodies and administrations, maximizing their contribution to the regional economy, and improving the provision of cartographic services. to public administrations, companies and citizens in general.
Currently, the mandatory prior public consultation is open to gather the opinion of citizens and the agents most interested in this matter, before preparing the draft of the decree.
